Graduating Students May 2022
This information is accurate for Yale College and Yale Graduate School students graduating in May 2022. Students who graduated in December 2021 can find more information here.
After you graduate, your access to Yale accounts and information will change. Take the following steps to prepare for these changes and preserve your data.
Return Borrowed Equipment (due May 19, 2022)
Media Equipment and Loaner Laptops: Students who have checked out media equipment or loaner laptops from STC have received an email with instructions for return. Please do not return this equipment via outdoor bookdrops.
Books: Until staff are able to return to campus, the Library encourages students to hold onto their books and will be waiving any and all fines. The Library will provide further instruction once campus reopens.
Transfer Ownership of Club Files & Accounts (before Jun 1, 2022)
Take stock of any files, accounts, and email lists you own on behalf of Yale clubs and organizations. You will need to transfer ownership to a continuing Yale student before your own accounts are deactivated. Please note that transferring ownership is different from simply sharing a document.
Migrate files stored on Box (before Oct 1, 2022) [50GB free storage available!]
Back up any files saved in Box before your account is deactivated in October. You may choose to convert your 50GB Yale Box account into a personal Box.com account to keep for life.
Set Address To Receive 2021 W-2 Tax Forms (before Nov 30, 2022)
Ensure that your contact information is correct in Yale’s systems to receive your 2022 W-2 form. Update your correct email or mailing address by November 30, 2022 for receipt of your W-2 form in January 2023.

Save and Migrate Email and Calendar (before Jun 21, 2023)
Your Yale email account will be deactivated in June 2023, but you should begin preserving your account data long before then. You have several options to download your data or migrate it to a different email account.
Once you have migrated your data, we strongly recommend that you open it in its new location to confirm the process has been successful. Please note that for large accounts, the download and migration process can take up to one week to complete.
Set Up Your Alumni Email Account (starting Jan 29, 2022)
The Yale Alumni Association provides every alumni a free Google email account through the YaleMail service. These accounts offer alumni a life-long @aya.yale.edu email address.
Turn On Email Auto-Reply and Auto-Forwarding (starting May 25, 2022)
Your Yale email account will be deactivated in June 2023. However, you should turn on auto-reply and email forwarding in May 2022 to ease the transition away from your Yale email address. Please note that both auto-reply and email forwarding will stop working when your account is deactivated in June 2023.

Migrate Adobe Creative Cloud Files (before Oct 1, 2022) [discount available!]
Visit graduation.adobe.com to migrate your Creative Cloud account. You must migrate your Creative Cloud files to a free personal license first; you may then upgrade your account if you choose.
Discounted Offer for Graduating Students
